Becoming a grief/bereavement counselor?
I have a B.A. in psychology and I am currently taking the online continuing education courses from the American Academy of Grief Counseling necessary to apply for certification as a grief counselor. Is finding a job as a grief counselor realistic with just the certification, or do employers require a Master's as well? Also, in what setting do the majority of grief counselors work (hospice, hospital, funeral home, private practice, etc.)? Not much information on the Internet about this - Any grief/bereavement counselors out there who can help me out?
Funeral Homes now offer your type of services on a regular basis. They are on call to for families that are about to lose someone or just did. Also, you might want to check more than one Funeral Home, and you could work at several.
